Chilly run today 🥶🦝 Who drives a black truck and honked and swerved at me tho? 🥴
Nicky Eft: Prolly the same dirtbag who tried to steer his truck into space my car was already occupying the other day. Surely there cannot be two drivers of black pickup trucks with such poor manners in this town.

My dad would make an effort to give at least one personal gift at Christmas that wasn’t something my mom bought for us kids. Especially as we got older and moved out.
We knew which were his because of the unique Pete aesthetic. Whatever it was got wrapped in a parts box or shoe box or second hand shipping box. That was then wrapped in aluminum foil or newspaper and then sealed with duct tape or HVAC aluminum tape.
Even though he did often write a soppy, sweet note in a card separately, he would also address the gifts by writing across them really big with a sharpie.
Gifts ranged from books to hats and snacks to cool shells and crystals. A sun catcher. A cat-shaped piggy bank. Fancy incense and a painted incense holder. Bamboo wind chimes. You never know what it would be or even where he got it.
He had a vast inner life that often puzzled and amused me. While it was also problematic at times, I appreciated that he didn’t let the world tell him how to be and how he should feel about people.
Teresa S.C.: Lots of love this Holiday season. With my dad no longer here, I can find some solace and understanding in his eccentric self. While it was rough growing up and I’ll admit, I was embarrassed at times. Truth is, I miss him and wish I wasn’t so hard on him later in life.
Moe H.: That sounds like a lovely memory
