Much discussion about normcore today. Feeling old.
Margaret H.: I think I’m normcore by accident.
Radha Krueger: That was part of the discussion Mags. We understand you can only be normcore by intention. So if you’re a parent or over 36 and dress like that, you’re just boring; but if you are young and trendy, and did it on purpose, then you’re cool.
Margaret H.: I’ve been doing in since I was young and trendy?
Radha Krueger: Maybe you are a trend leader and didn’t know it?
Margaret H.: By Jove I think you’ve got it!
Damian B: Don’t even know what that is…
Nathaniel K.: I didn’t know this was a thing. It makes more sense knowing that the original coining of the portmanteau was from a webcomic, so it probably contains a hefty bit of irony (as the combination of the word “normal” and “hardcore” seems inherently self defeating)

Matthew S.: I did an image search. Lots of Seinfeld. So basically, it’s a 90s white people re-tread. Okay.
Radha Krueger: This term surfaced in 2014, and I’ve just heard it because AP Style just recognized it. That also makes me feel old and uncool.
Amy Dean: hahahaha!!! these are the posts i love, specially when i’m in the middle of studying and my brain is about mush, i can always count on you Radha, you! the extra funny part is i was just complaining to Bruce that his style was stuck in the 90’s and that clothes besides long sleeve t-shirts and 90’s style blue jeans did exist… (summer uniform is cargo shorts and random t-shirts. period.) but now that you and Margaret have pointed out the possibility of being a trend leader, i have absolutely no argument left. normcore…. smh lol
Lila S.: Am I still young? I don’t think I was ever trendy.
