I bought my house in 2007 and the guy that rehabbed it put in a lot of new stuff because apparently it was super gross after many years as a shitty rental. Some discoveries over the years have been fun, like the capped gas line that’ll make swapping my electric stove for gas really easy. He put in one of those remote doorbells. I hate doorbells and never changed the batteries (these batteries expired in 2012 LOL). I finally just took the doorbell box off the hallway wall. And… this? Old doorbell line? Is that a thing? Anyone have an old ’50s CB house with similar? I’m planning on taking this wall out in the spring.

Michelle T.: Yeah doorbells are usually hardwired.
Danny H.: Looks like a low volt two conductor which would be doorbell, security (contact sensors) or IR send/receive for home automation (which is probably unlikely).
Where is it in the house? Some hold heat pump systems only used a two conductor switch, but that wire looks newer than that (they were usually wrapped in canvas).
But yeah- likely doorbell.
Radha Krueger: Yeah it’s in the hall about 5 feet from the furnace closet. Fun fact: the house came with electricity run to the closet in the back bedroom for…. grow lights is my guess LOL
Samba Krueger: These days they are all wireless. Just shove them in and spackle

I basically love my new vacuum, and it’s joined forces with my floor steamer to make my house less gross.
Nellie S.: I’d like to know more about your vacuum.
Radha Krueger: It’s a new eureka bagless canister vacuum but I appreciate the little design touches they planned into it. Very happy and would recommend. (I don’t have carpet so it suits my tiled house with 700 cats LOL)
Nellie S.: I know of these cats. I have kissed many of their faces.
Rachel R.: What floor steamer do you have?
Radha Krueger: I have the eureka envirosteam which they don’t make anymore but I’m sure the new version is great. Recommend eureka very much.
Martyna Elle: I used to have that one and loved so much it until it died. It was a sad sad sad day. 😭 I don’t like my new one anywhere near as much.
Sheila A.: I had the Eureka for years until it finally died.

More vet visits. We love Newberry Animal Hospital on Main ❤ Henri is old and crusty but slowing down. He did insist on rubbing his snotty nose on everything in the exam room.

Another vet trip today. This time to check up on Henri, our really old street cat, and Pax who has skin and teeth issues. Henri has been through a lot in his life as a street cat, and we want his retirement to be everything he deserves. Which unfortunately means keeping an eye on him so when his quality of life deteriorates, we can help him avoid unbearable pain. He’s still tottering around now, and we’re getting meds to help him feel better. And we’ll appreciate our time with him knowing he’s heading into his sunset year. ❤ #TNRworks #streetcat #rescuecat #oldcat #OldManHenri #seniorcat

“The trouble with you is that the only way you can communicate is through art. You’ve never learned to communicate your feelings to a man. You don’t even want to communicate in a relationship. You think that if you open up to love, you’ll lose your independence or your self-expression or creativity or whatever you call all that passionate, wonderful stuff that makes you feel alive inside.”
—Tom Robbins, Skinny Legs and All
Moe H.: Such a great book.
Eli Zabeth: I LOVE Tom Robbins.
💕
Mandy O.R.: At first glance I thought the quote was by motivational life coach Tony Robins. I was surprised it was attributed to him and even more surprised he wrote a book called Skinny Legs and All. I read it again. This makes much more sense.
