Max showed up a week ago, terribly emaciated and desperate. He’s stuck around and is finally letting me pick him up. Surprise! He is actually a she. We renamed her Moxie (stealing the name Lesly & Michael). Best guess is she’s a sister to Sophia, a cat we discovered in the same condition months ago and who was adopted out (Amy!). It’s always an adventure.

a black cat is hiding in deep grasses

Amy D.P.: as i was reading this i was wondering if this was from the same family… poor little one! at least she is in good hands. πŸ™‚

Radha Krueger: She has the same ‘Resting Bitch Face’ πŸ™‚

Amy D.P.: Sophie has just recently found another expression, we haven’t named it yet but it is more plesent… (she is also starting to enjoy snuggling in bed, rather than randomly jumping on you in the middle of the night scaring the F#CK out of you)

Radha Krueger: I’m pretty sure Sophie came out of this cat hoarding house, so she’s bound to be a little quirky! She really was so sweet from what I remembered πŸ™‚

Amy D.P.: she is the smallest in size of the 3 cats we have (i moved in with my BF) but is the biggest asshole you will ever meet lol! (we love her dearly and wouldn’t trade her for the world & i think she likes BF better than me now…) she can be sweet at times, but she entertains her self by trying to kill the dog or get the dog in trouble by knocking, ehhm, shoving everything off the counter onto the dog, including wine glasses, cat food bowl (full or empty doesn’t matter) fruit bowls, other random items. Dog thinks it’s all in fun and games, so when he gets in trouble for chewing up the new sim card, or my mascara… she silently peers around you mocking the poor pup… so the dog just walks around with a guilty look all the time now cuz he doesn’t understand how or why everything falls off every counter/dresser/flat serface we own, and why he can’t chew it, if it’s on the floor it used to be his??!!. other than that she really is a sweety!! her meow never really came in, but i love her compact funky ass and her little mew. πŸ™‚

I’m so done. I want to stay in bed and read and/or nap while people bring me grilled cheese (gooey fake orange cheese on white bread) and tomato soup, or mac & cheese from a box and baked beans–and nobody talks to me or asks me to do anything. I want a whole day to go by without cleaning up someone else’s excretions. I want to listen to the birds and the rain. I want human beings to stop being cunts to each other and everything around them. I want to stop being sick. I want this to happen today, and for the rest of the week.

Margaret H.: Tell Damian to stop pooping on the floor. Feel better soon πŸ™‚

Radha Krueger: So after starting today like this, of course this is the day my neighbor gets busted for animal hoarding/regular hoarding/I don’t even know. Way too much!

Cat Lady Update: Animal Services removed 3 cats on Saturday (they got vet care). Now ACAS is back in force to figure out the situation. We’re at three Animal Services vans, two marked cop cars, on plain cop car, two code enforcement cars, and about a dozen people walking around and taking pictures/making notes. I hear they may have a fire truck out before they’re done. Meanwhile no one can figure out where the homeowner is.

several police cars and city vehicles are parked in front of a house under a huge tree

And now the fire trucks are arriving.

a fire truck is driving past in a neighborhood

Christopher Biggs: Why all the emergency services? Would 1 cop and the animal cops be enough?

Radha Krueger: The power was out intitially, so they have to have a fire trunk on site in case something happens when the power gets turned on. And then they had to have the guys get in full oxygen suits to enter the house because it was seriously gross. And they als… See more

Christopher Biggs: Wow Do you have popcorn?

Radha Krueger: When they opened the doors, a smell came out and whipped through the neighborhood. I’m not hungry anymore.

Joy J H.: Wow. Full blown animal hoarder, huh? So sad.

Jen LZ R.: Owner dead?

Radha Krueger: The owner is not around, but there’s probably a bunch of dead animals in there. It’s not good.

Ongoing saga: GRU arrived with two trucks and and enormous truck with a huge arm to do god-knows, and 20 seconds later, the rain we’ve been waiting days for arrives in full. I don’t envy anyone there today. (Edit: a second giant armed truck has arrived.)

Stacy S.D.: I’m following this like a telenovela. Keep it up!!

Jivana W.: What Stacy said

Jessica A.: Geez Louise!

After today’s hoopla, I am treating my self to healthy orange juice, with a healthy serving of Emergen-C in it, and a healthy measure of vodka. Super healthy!

a pint glass with a logo for Looseys is in front of a framed photo of a couple

James T. H.: Such product placement. Craving Loosey’s for some reason.

Radha Krueger: These are the Loosey’s Vintage glasses… apparently I know people πŸ˜‰

Radha Krueger: Still not sure. But from the looks of it, probably a bunch of dead animals and excrement in the neighbor’s house, and the building is likely going to be condemned. Three cats were taken out alive and may make it to adoption. No body looked happy going in and out of there.

Add ‘Director’ to my title any time, and it goes straight to my head!

Piso Ray: It’s better than a raise!

Radha Krueger: Considering it’s a volunteer position, I’ll take it πŸ˜‰

Radha Krueger: It’s not a big deal. I just get to fill in as Discharge Director at the Op Catnip clinic this week. I’m usually just Discharge Transporter. This time I get to talk to everyone and sit in the comfy chair πŸ˜‰
